The Big Shots
Six exceptional clients frequent every league — one per type of venue. Each has only one protector at a time: whoever staked the most. While they hold the seat, their girls earn 25% more in that type of building. And everything staked to get it burns.
The principle
This system has no price in the catalogue: the league sets it. A seat is worth whatever the last player agreed to pay for it, and taking it back costs at least the minimum raise. Staked Cash vanishes — it is neither returned to the outgoing holder nor kept for you. It is the late-game sink: once the city is complete and renovated, this is where money finds a meaning again — and a rival.

The floor follows the league city’s gain multiplier — ×15 in Tokyo —, like Police rates: it is an operating expense, not a capital purchase.
Bidding

Taking the seat costs at least the minimum — and what you stake burns: nothing is ever refunded, to the outgoing holder or to you. Holding the seat also costs daily rent; unpaid, you are dethroned.
Implemented in src/domain/bigshot.ts
- Empty seat: you pay the current price. At the start of a season it is 4 × the floor and halves every 72 h — arriving early is expensive, waiting is a bet on the others.
- Seat held by a rival: at least 25% more than the current price, at most 4 × the minimum. The rival loses the exclusivity on the spot and gets nothing back.
- Your own seat: you may consolidate (≥ 25% more, without benefiting from decay) to raise the price the next player must beat. That money burns too.
The catch
The price drops when nobody bids: a huge stake does not protect a whole season, it protects a few days. Conversely, rent of 5% of the stake falls every day while you hold the seat — unpaid, the Big Shot walks out and the seat is free again. Holding all six costs 30% of your stakes per day.
Season, league and public profile
- Seats belong to the season’s league: when the season turns, everything is free again at the opening price. The last protector keeps the exclusivity to the end and gets nothing back.
- Leaving the league (Prestige) dethrones you from all seats. A player without a league — in the tutorial, or right after a Prestige — cannot bid until the next season.
- Bids are public: the league feed shows who staked how much, and a player’s profile shows the Big Shots they hold. The bonus does not count towards the Gala reward, which only counts permanent effects.
Worth knowing
The bonus only applies in the Big Shot’s building type. Before staking on the Senator, count your Private Mansions and the girls working there — then compare with what the seat costs per day.
